1
Create your account
Sign up at app.ordyn.dev and create or join a workspace.
2
Connect GitHub
Go to Connections, connect GitHub, and install the Ordyn GitHub App on the repositories you want covered. Pick a default repository in the GitHub settings. Auto Monitors works on that repository.GitHub is required. It is how Ordyn reads your code, reviews pull requests, and opens fixes.
3
Connect Slack
Connect Slack and authorize the Ordyn app. Ordyn posts alerts and investigations to the channels you choose and responds when you mention it.
4
Connect your observability
Connect at least one source Ordyn can read: Sentry, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud, or another from the integrations list. Ordyn uses these to investigate alerts and to create monitors.
5
Turn on Auto Monitors
Open Detect and follow the setup. You will name your production environment, grant Ordyn access to create monitors, and pick the Slack channel where alerts should go. See Set up Auto Monitors. If you want to watch Ordyn without changing your existing alert channels, route alerts to a new channel first. See Shadow mode.
6
Open a pull request
Nothing happens until the next pull request opens. When it does, Ordyn reviews it and lists the monitors that change needs, plus anything the code is missing to make them possible.
7
Deploy
When the change reaches production, Ordyn waits for real traffic, sets thresholds from it, creates the monitors, and confirms the deploy is healthy. See Deploys.
From here on, alerts that reach Slack come with impact, root cause, and a fix attached.
